Bologna Comparto Nord
MASTERPLAN
This urban project aims to address challenges in Bologna's northern area, "Comparto Nord," marked by heterogeneous structures, limited green spaces, and a car-centric design. The plan focuses on reclaiming the city for its citizens through a central square and a pedestrian-friendly West-East strip connecting Bolognina to Parco Nord. The project emphasizes water management, utilizing special draining systems and transforming an existing ditch to address climate change-induced extreme weather. In tackling transportation issues, the Stalingrado axis undergoes a transformation inspired by successful international models, reallocating space from cars to create a dynamic cycle-pedestrian path, promoting sustainable mobility and enhancing the overall urban experience. The goal is to create a comprehensive and organic masterplan that revitalizes the area, prioritizing people over cars and fostering community engagement.
